Happy Holidays!

Christmas has passed but I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

To say this Christmas was different than all the rest would be an understatement.

Christmas Eve we went out to the city since not too much was going on in Bondi. Had a drink at a cafe beside the Opera House then heading to Kings Cross, the party area of Sydney. We didn't know if anything would be open since it was Christmas Eve but a place called World Bar was open. Their were tons of travelers there! This place is known for service drinks in tea pots! After that we wanted some late night food. I guess I take it for granted being able to have Fritz or 99 cent pizza because here pizza slices can run up to 6 dollars a slice!

Christmas Day was spent at an all day party on Bondi Beach with music and drinking all day long! It was pretty crazy to see a sea of santa hats throughout the day. Definitely not a fancy Christmas dinner. We ended up getting fish and chips at 10pm at night! We thought it was going to be cloudy weather but it ended up being over 25 degrees. Even wearing SPF 30 gives you a tan.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas! I can't wait to watch the harbour fireworks on New Years!

First Entry!

I can't believe it's already been a month that I've been here and I haven't done an entry yet! I'm going to try and do them once a week.

It's pretty crazy that it's December 23rd and it's sunny outside. Been tanning by the pool for the last couple of days. I am not missing the crazy weather at home!

So to update everyone on what I've been doing the past month. The first week I stayed in a pretty cool hostel called Wake Up, right in downtown Sydney. First time living in a hostel and it's apparently one of the nicest! It took a good four days to get over the jet lag.

After a week in the hostel I moved into the place I'm in now, in Manly, a 30 min ferry ride from the city. The ferry ride is pretty nice. Get to see the Harbour Bridge and Opera House everytime I take it! The apartment I'm in now until January 11th is really nice! All glass doors in the living room so have perfect views of the water. The apartment is right on the water with an outdoor pool. We're on the top floor and have balconies and all sides. You can see some amazing sunsets when out on them.

It has been way harder than I thought to get a job here. I can get an office job in January but it has been impossible to find something until then. I'll just have to watch how much I spend! Although it is quite expensive to live here.

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and going to spend it with some friends from home and then on Christmas day we are going to a beach party on Bondi Beach! Apparently it's where all the orphans (travelers on Christmas!) go to on Christmas day. Hard to get into the Christmas spirit when it's sunny outside! Hopefully for New Year's I'm going to watch the Sydney Harbour fireworks from a friend's rooftop apartment!

Well I better get ready for another job interview! Crossing my fingers!
